Let’s do this! Let’s help Warm Up America! I am so excited to help the Warm Up America Foundation celebrate their 30th Anniversary. In this video I show you how to do the Seed Crochet Stitch and the Trinity Crochet Stitch to help excite you to make a 7 inch wide by 9 inch tall rectangular section to send in to the Warm Up America! Foundation. But feel free to use whatever pattern you would like to help out the cause.

USE YOUR SCRAP YARN!!! Oh my goodness this is the perfect opportunity for you to clean out your yarn stash and use all those scrap yarn pieces left over from other projects.

Please use yarn that is easy to wash just to make it easy on those who will receive these blankets.

Mail your finished rectangular sections to:

Hi Tiffany I am in Ireland and very involved in doing charity crochet, this is a.wonderful idea you are doing ,I think k you are an amazing young woman, from a 71 years young crocheter, good luck with the project, xxx

  3. My first question was do they take knit items but I found my answers. A friend messengered me your video so I went looking for it on YouTube and found my answer. I have an injured place in my neck and I do hand work to work on my fine motor skills. I also have one of the super large balls of yarn with nothing to do with it. Right now knitting works better for me than crochet. I have wanted to do something like this so let's do this.

  4. Stephe Reid says:

What an awesome idea! Let’s do this ❤️

  5. Thank you for this tutorial and info on Warm up America website. I plan to crochet rectangles.

  6. Ladylasil says:

I have a suggestion to when mailing them. Put them in large ziploc bags just in case weather is kind of wet.

  7. Helen Snay says:

Did you make your sweater? Love it!!!

  8. Tracy Fowler says:

  9. BunnyCrochet says:

I love learing new stitches! Thank you for this tutorial! 🐰🐰

  10. I'm all in! Wonderful charity.

  11. Nice idea to help out. On the trinity stitch does it matter if you do just one loop or two? It looked like the first and last single was one loop and the second one was two loops.

  12. Vivian Hasak says:

Thank you, Tiffany for helping us to help America to Warm up with Hope and Blankets !!! <3

  13. dontscratch says:

i found the trinity stitch pulled in on the second and third row. too tight. the seed crochet worked out great. trinity stitch did not work for me. barbara

  14. I am on my third rectangle, I have also shared this with a co worker. This is also a great idea for practice pattern swatches.

  15. Shari Miller says:

What a great idea I was looking for a charity this year thanks for the challenge. I have some 5 & 6 weight scraps will they accept the squares not made from 4 weight???

  16. This is a great idea! I’m currently working on hats and scarves for a shelter but will work on this as well 😀

  17. What a great campaign and great foundation! Starting my rectangles tonight!

  18. Jane Chapman says:

Thank you for sharing this information. I love the seed stitch and have never tried the Trinity stitch, so I think I'll use that one as it looks like fun. Great job.

  19. Joy K says:

I’m really excited about this Tiffany! Thank you. I wish the ending date was longer, though. Will they still accept the rectangles after February 15?

  20. Thank you like your channel

  21. Love this idea, so happy that Crystal of Bag-o-day suggested following you!

I have a bit of an issue I chain the amount you recommended and measured it and it measured 7 inches but after I finished the rows needed. I re-measure and it turn out to be only 6 1/2 inches. Am I doing something wrong?

  22. Cindy Like says:

I just got two swatches made up and ready to send to the Warm Up America! Foundation from Vincennes, Indiana.

Great idea! I had a hard time following your tutorial. I am going to do sc/hdc but at the size that you requested. I could not see where you placed your hook after row#1, for the seed Stitch

  25. Absolutely love this❣❣❣ Part of small prayer shawl ministry with my church. We're going to try to make and send in as many as we can. Thank you for sharing this wonderful cause 😁😁😁

  26. amber byers says:

Do the squares have to be in the seed stitch & trinity stitch pattern?

  27. I left my scrap yarn in Mn. Just moved to texas for winter. I will do my best on what I have here. Thanks. great cause

  28. To measure the section you could use that 7×9" cardboard template that you made. That is what a lot of us with WUA do. Love that you are doing this.

  29. Great tutorial. Thanks for this.

  30. Awesome idea to help me stay calm at night before bed. …. definitely will try to send in a few within the next three weeks. 🤗👍😘🙏

  32. Several years ago, I was blessed with the gift of my beautiful mother in laws yarn collection after she passed away. I have been hoarding it, waiting for the perfect project. I think that this is it! She would be so pleased that her yarn is helping keep America’s people warm!!
