This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4×4 or 5×5.

This blog post might be useful:

-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc’ blanket?

Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

  1. I love this I'm at work watching your video going to try this once I get home

  2. Found out recently these are excellent for people who wear hearing aids. Easy to lose one taking masks off and on.

  3. How can I fix my first row of chains? Mine looks like an actual interlocked chain instead of the braid-looking one in the video. Is this an issue that even needs fixing?

Thank you for the tutorial~ It was so easy to follow even for someone who knows so little about crochet. Great for people with headscarves too! I made one for my friend^^

I like the way she takes the time to explain what to do, and clearly show what to do.

Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I needed to make some of these for my family. I will make more and give away to those who need them in my area. I love your stitch markers. Did you make them too?

  17. john cete says:

These don't just work for extending but also for making a mask tighter if needed. It's because it pulls the mask ear straps farther behind your head. Therefore, whether it's extending or making the mask tighter depends on which notches on the "extender" you use. Either way, they are perfect because they make any mask we have fit so much better for every member of our family! In addition to the improved fit, which equates to better protection, these add a tremendous amount of comfort since it elleviates the pressure on the ears, and also keeps the masks from falling down below the nose. Plus, you can pull the face mask down with the extender still on and keep the mask around your neck when you don't need your mouth and nose covered. We use these extenders every single time we put our masks on even during sports or walks. Thank you for the fantastic product!

I love this.. I will ask one of my aged care residents to make for staff. It will be a meaningful activity for her & perfect gift for staff 💚 😷💚

I've been struggling with other tutorials for these all night, I should have known to check here first. Your tutorials are always so clear and concise. Just finished making one of these for my housemate, as the mask elastics never fit over her ears right. They're compulsory now, so I wouldn't want her to get a fine for having a small head!

  22. I followed easily and am going to make for my local hospital in Florida. Thank you.

  23. Kat D. says:

Bella Coco, thank you very much for explaining that the stitch name is different depending on your locale. This will make such a difference when talking to fellow crocheters in online groups.

  24. I don't know if you know this, they are also called "ear savers". We have washable face masks, so I anchor the strip on one end of the mask and button the other end. Brilliant video, thanks!

  25. Thank you so much for the easy to follow tutorial, I've just made one for my daughter.

  26. Is it ok to use acrylic yarn? I was wondering.

  27. Thanks my mask kept falling off this solved the problem stay safe 💕
